The brief at Pinehill School was very straight forward: “Can we please have a welcoming entrance area?”. The area around the parking lot and entrance to the school hall was a grassed area with Pohutukawa trees which were planted by the class that leaves each year, as a reminder of their time at Pinehill School. The design team put their heads together and added some feature old railway sleepers and lighting so the area can be enjoyed at any time of day, all year round. All works were completed in the school holidays to have minimal disruption to teachers and pupils. The principal, Tracey Kelsey, staff and students were extremely happy with the result when starting their classes again after their holiday break. We look forward to work with Pinehill School on their next landscaping project.
