Our Design Process

At Luijten Landscaping, we believe outdoor spaces should feel effortless, a natural extension of your home and lifestyle. Our design process is personal, creative, and collaborative, ensuring your new landscape is beautiful, functional, and uniquely yours.
1. Meet & Discover
Every project begins with a conversation. We meet with you on-site to learn about your vision, needs, and the way you want to live in your outdoor space. Together, we explore ideas, share inspiration, and talk about how to make the most of your site, all while carefully keeping your goals and budget in mind.
2. Concept Design
Using the information gathered, our design team creates a concept plan tailored specifically to your property. It’s a visual representation of how your landscape could look and feel, highlighting structure, flow, and the key design elements that will shape your space.
You’ll be invited to review the concept with us, usually at our Drury office and showroom, where you can see materials, finishes, and plant selections in person.
3. Refinement & Detailing
Once the concept feels right, we refine the design and add more detail. This stage brings the vision into focus, selecting materials, finalising planting, and making sure everything aligns with Council requirements and practical construction needs. It’s a creative collaboration where your feedback shapes the final plan.
4. Costing & Planning
With the design finalised, our project managers and estimators prepare a detailed quote. We’ll walk you through the options and help you make informed decisions about what’s next. You can choose to continue seamlessly into construction with our in-house team, or take the design forward independently, the choice is yours.
5. Bringing It to Life
If you decide to build with us, the same team who designed your landscape will work closely with our construction specialists to bring your vision to life. From the first dig to the final planting, every detail is managed with care and craftsmanship. The result is an outdoor space that feels complete, one that reflects your style, enhances your home, and invites you to enjoy it for years to come.
Consents and Specialist Services
Many landscape projects require more than just great design, they also need the right technical documentation and Council approvals. Our team has extensive experience preparing Building Consents for swimming pools and pool fencing, Resource Consents, as well as Landscape Visual Assessments, and detailed drawings for tenders, ensuring that your project meets all regulatory requirements without unnecessary delays. We can manage the entire process on your behalf or collaborate with your architect or other specialists to provide the necessary drawings and information. This integrated approach keeps everything seamless, compliant, and moving forward smoothly from design through to construction.
